We don't sell your name, email, or payment details to data brokers — full stop. But privacy law has evolved to define "sale" and "sharing" more broadly than most people expect, and some ordinary advertising cookies can technically fall under those definitions even when no money changes hands. This page explains what that actually means for you and exactly how to opt out if you'd like to.

1. What "Sale" and "Sharing" Actually Cover

Under some state privacy laws, sharing certain browsing or device information with an advertising or analytics partner — even without any money involved — can legally count as a "sale" or "sharing" of your data, particularly when it's used for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads based on your activity across different websites, not just ours).

To be clear about what this does not include: sending your shipping address to a carrier so your order arrives, or sharing payment details with a processor so your card gets charged — those are normal parts of fulfilling your purchase, not a "sale" under any reasonable reading of these laws.

2. Where Lumenvel Actually Stands

We do not sell your name, email, phone number, or payment information to unrelated businesses for cash. What might apply to us: if we run analytics or advertising cookies on our site (to understand traffic or measure whether an ad campaign is working), some of that activity could technically fall under a state's broader "sharing" definition — even though it feels more like ordinary website analytics than anything resembling a data sale.

Where that applies, you have real, usable options below to opt out.

3. What Kind of Information Might Be Involved

Depending on which tools are active on our site during your visit, this could include:

• Online identifiers — things like cookie IDs, device identifiers, or your IP address
• Device & browser info — browser type, operating system, general device settings
• Website activity — pages viewed, products browsed, cart activity, search terms
• Purchase history — what you've bought, order value, general shopping patterns
• Approximate location — general area (city/state level) inferred from your IP address, not precise GPS

To be clear: your full card number, security code, and other sensitive payment details are never used for advertising purposes, by us or anyone we work with.

4. Who Might Receive This Information

If enabled on our site, categories of recipients could include analytics providers, advertising platforms, social media advertising tools, or similar marketing-measurement services. Shopify, as our ecommerce platform, may also process some of this activity as part of running our store. Exactly which providers are active can shift over time as our tools change.

5. Your Right to Opt Out

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of:

• The sale of your personal information
• Sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising
• Use of your data for targeted advertising

Opting out doesn't affect your ability to shop with us normally — you can still browse, order, track shipments, request a return, and contact support exactly as before. We will never make targeted-advertising consent a condition of completing a purchase.

6. How to Opt Out — Pick Whichever Works for You

Option 1: Cookie Preferences
Use the cookie settings tool on our website (usually in the footer) to turn off advertising and analytics cookies directly. Essential cookies — the ones that keep checkout and your cart working — will stay active, since the site needs those to function.

Option 2: Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor that as a valid opt-out request where required by law. Just know that this applies per browser/device — if you switch browsers or devices, you may need to enable it there too.

Option 3: Email Us

Include your name, the email tied to your account or orders (if applicable), and your state of residence. Please don't include full card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive info — we won't need it for this request.

Option 4: Call Us

7. A Few Honest Caveats

• This applies going forward, not retroactively — it won't undo activity from before we received your request.
• You may need to repeat this if you clear cookies, switch browsers, use a new device, or browse in a different account — opt-outs are generally tied to the specific browser or device that submitted them.
• Other platforms have their own settings. If you've interacted with an ad on a social media platform, for instance, that platform's own privacy dashboard is a separate place to manage those preferences — we can't control settings on services we don't operate.
• This isn't the same as unsubscribing from marketing emails. If you want to stop promotional emails specifically, use the unsubscribe link in that email. Opting out of data sharing and opting out of marketing emails are two different things.
• This isn't a deletion request either. If you'd like your information deleted rather than just excluded from advertising use, email us with the subject line "Privacy Deletion Request" instead — details are in our Privacy Policy.

8. Verifying Your Request

For a straightforward opt-out request, we generally just need enough information to identify the right browser, account, or records tied to you — nothing invasive. If you're asking us to access, correct, or delete information (a different, more sensitive kind of request), we may need a bit more to confirm your identity first.

9. If You're Under 16

We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 for cross-context behavioral advertising without the legally required authorization. Our store is intended for adults capable of making purchases, and we don't knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, email customersupport@lumenvel.com with the subject line "Child Privacy Concern," and we'll look into it right away.

10. You Won't Be Penalized for Opting Out

Exercising this choice will never result in us charging you a different price, denying you a product, or providing worse service. If we're ever legally permitted to offer a different price or service level tied to data use, we'll disclose that clearly and separately — it won't be a hidden penalty for opting out.

11. Appealing a Decision

If your state gives you the right to appeal how we've handled a privacy request, email us at customersupport@lumenvel.com with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal," including your original request date and why you'd like it reconsidered. We'll review it and respond within the timeframe the law requires.

12. Using an Authorized Agent

If you'd like someone else to submit this request on your behalf, that's allowed under some state laws — we may just ask for proof that they're actually authorized to act for you, or direct confirmation from you, before processing it.

13. Updates to This Page

As privacy laws, our tools, or our advertising practices change, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. If a change is significant enough to affect previously collected information, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
